KNOW WHAT NEEDS FIXING

A second look
at the small details.

Designed for Shopify product CSVs, including common legacy column names. Check a supplier file after mapping it to Shopify’s format.

01

File structure & required fields

Broken quoting, mismatched column counts, duplicate headers and missing product identifiers.

02

Products, variants & values

Repeated option combinations, reused SKUs, invalid prices, image URL syntax and inconsistent option names.

03

Import settings worth reviewing

Zero prices, publication defaults and update dependencies. Optional bedding review flags named sizes without recognizable dimensions.

A useful check, with clear limits.

This tool checks the file you provide. It does not connect to Shopify, compare with your store, fetch image links, verify product claims, or guarantee a successful import. A valid URL may still point to a missing image. Free cleanup normalizes recognized headers, quoting and empty rows while preserving product values. It does not correct facts or variant conflicts. For arbitrary supplier columns, use the separate supplier preparation tool.

Keep a backup before updating products. Review Shopify’s import preview, especially when overwriting existing data. Read Shopify’s product CSV guidance

FIX IT, THEN CHECK AGAIN

Common Shopify
CSV questions.

Why does my CSV have the wrong number of columns?

A description containing commas needs quotes around the whole cell. Quotes inside it must be doubled. Re-exporting from your spreadsheet as CSV UTF-8 is often easier than fixing the raw text. The report points to the starting line of the affected record.

Can I use an Excel supplier spreadsheet?

Save the relevant Excel sheet as CSV UTF-8 first. Use Supplier preparation to map supplier fields and preview draft products, or this free checker for files already in Shopify format. Neither tool opens .xlsx workbooks.

Is a duplicate SKU always an import error?

No. This checker treats duplicate SKUs as warnings because reuse may be intentional. Check that your inventory and fulfillment workflows can identify each variant correctly. Repeated size-and-colour combinations within one product are reported separately.

How should bedding sizes be checked?

Enable Bedding size review to flag names such as King or Queen without recognizable dimensions. Review the actual measurements, the intended country and the contents of each set. The checker does not infer those facts or certify that they are correct.

Are my supplier prices or product details uploaded?

No. The checker reads the file in this browser and performs its checks locally. There are no analytics events containing your file, no AI requests and no saved catalog history. Download the report if you want to keep it.

Does a clean report mean it is safe to import?

It means the supported checks found no issues. Store settings, existing products, image availability and newer Shopify fields can still affect the import. Review the original data, keep a backup and inspect Shopify’s preview.
